 Chief Technology Officer | Steven Andrés (CISSP, ISSAP, ISSMP, CCNP, CCSE, MCSE) is the Chief Technology Officer for Special Ops Security and author of Security Sage’s Guide to Hardening the Network Infrastructure. Andres has contributed to the best-selling Hacking Exposed: Fourth Edition as well as Special Ops: Network and Host Security. Prior to forming Special Ops Security, Andres was a core team member of Foundstone, a vulnerability management company acquired by McAfee in late 2004. Andres is the co-creator of the award-winning Foundstone FS1000 Appliance, a widely-recognized security platform in use at dozens of Fortune 100 firms. Andres was awarded the INFOSEC Professional designation by the National Security Agency and the Department of Defense IATAC lists Andres as one of their subject-matter experts in the field of Information Security. With nine years of experience managing high-availability networks in the Entertainment, Health Care, and Financial industries, Andres is frequently invited to speak on secure architecture best practices. Andres earned a Bachelor's degree from UCLA, a Masters of Science degree in Homeland Security from San Diego State University, and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
